Patter call:

Bow to your partner, corners all

Circle to the right go ‘round the hall

Circle to the right go ‘round the land

Do an allemande right with your right hand

Corner by the left like a left allemande

A right to your partner, right and left grand

Go right and left grand now, don’t just wait

Next time dont anticipate

Promenade your lady and here we bo

Now the head two couples wheel on around

A right and left through with the couple you found

Turn ‘em right around and pass through

Right and left through with the next old two

Turn ‘em right around, a right and left back

Now inside four face to the middle

Go allemande left with your left hand

Right to your mother, go right and left grand

Right and left grand go ‘round the town

Meet your honey and truck on down

Promenade eight go ‘round you do

Take a little walk go lickety-scoot

Now swing your honey, that’s what you do

Heads go forward, back with you

Heads to the right, a right and left through

Turn ‘em right around, a right and left back

Now take your opposite, face to the middle

Go forward eight and back

Double pass through and face that girl

Cross-trail through to a left allemande

And come to the right in a right and left grand

Right and left go ‘round the ring

Meet your honey, that pretty little thing

Promenade ‘em two by two

Now take a little walk go ‘round you do

Gents roll back to the corner girl

Promenade home with a brand new girl

Get back home and dont be slow

Swing that lady and here we go

Two and four, you promenade

Go all the way ‘round with your pretty little maid

Head couples do a right and left through

Sides keep a’going on around you do

Come out to the right with a right and left through

Now right and left back and hear me say

Girls roll away with a half-sashay

Take your opposite, face to the middle

Double pass through

Outside four turn right around

Allemande left when you come down

Right and left grand go ‘round the town

Meet your partner, meet your maid

Take her little hand and promenade

Promenade eight go ‘round the world

Take a little walk with your pretty little girl

Get back home and swing her there

Swing that girl with the curly hair

Head ladies chain across the ring

Then the same two ladies dixie chain

Both turn left go single file

Stand behind the sides awhile

Go forward eight and back with you

Now forward again, a double pass through

And the outside four roll back one

Come into the middle and box the gnat

Face to the middle and roll back one

Allemande left you son-of-a-gun

Find your partner right and left grand

Go right and left around that land

Then promenade go ‘round the town

Your big ole foot stomped a hole in the ground

Take your lady and you get home

Settle right down now, don’t you roam

Head ladies chain to the right you do

Turn ‘em ‘round like you always do

Then the head two couples right and left through

Side couples cross-trail through

Separate go ‘round two

Hook on the ends and don’t be late

Join hands and circle eight

Circle to the left go ‘round the ring

Gents go forward, back you get

Gents as a pair lead to the left

Allemande left with your left hand

Right and left grand go ‘round the land

Meet your partner on the other side

Promenade eight, go high and widw

Get back home with your pretty little pet

Settle right down you’re not through yet

Side ladies chain to the left of the ring

Then all four ladies grand chain

Now the head two couples cross-trail through

Separate go ‘round two

Go ‘round two now don’t be late

Then hook on the ends and circle eight

Circle eight go ‘round the ring

Girls go forward, back in flight

Girls as a pair lead to the right

Allemande left with your left hand

Then come to the right in a right and left grand

Hand over hand go ‘round the ring

Promenade eight with the pretty little things

Promenade your baby and you get back home

Settle right down now don’t you roam

Get back home, that’s what you do

Now swing your girl like you always do

Bow to your partner, corners too

And there you stand, that’s it, you’re through

Dance description:

The opening of dance is directional if you just listen. The first break will find couples number 1 and 2, facing and couples number 3 and 4 facing after the right and left thru and right and left back. The inside four (# 1 gent. # 2 lady. # 3 gent. # 4 lady) turn 1/4 (gents left-face turn, ladies right-face turn) to middle of square and everyone is then facing their original corner for left allemande. In the second break, couples 1 and 2 and couples 3 and 4 will be facing in diagonal lines. Take the lady you are facing by the hand and turn 1/4 (this time head couples will individually make left-face turn, sides a right-face turn) to face new middle of square in position for double pass thru. Head gents, now have new lady on right, side gents a new lady on left (don't change sides). Do a double pass thru and turn again to face the girl whose hand you held before the double pass thru. Now you will be facing again-in diagonal lines with your original partner on the right of you. Do a crosstrail thru to original corner for left allemande . The other break with this figure is directional and similar to the above except that when the ladies roll away, be sure you are all facing across to the same person before you take the opposites hand. On the next break, the head ladies will dixie chain (ladies touching right hands like a right and left grand, meeting gents with left hands, and then gents meeting with right hand (l’s following on through) and both will turn left and go round to stand behind the side couples (a gent behind a gent and a lady behind a lady). Do a double pass thru and all end facing out. The outside couples roll back into the middle and face original partner to box the gnat (the couples that have now moved to the outside will remain facing out). After the box the gnat, inside couplet turn 1/4 to face the middle again, and roll back around the outside couple once more. Everyone should be facing original corner for a left allemande. In the next two breaks, the figures are similar wherein you have a circle of eight with 2 gents, 2 ladies, 2 gents, 2 ladies circling. Together (as a pair), the gents or ladies will go in the designated direction to the end facing original corner.
