Music: "Barcarole" by Offenbach

Formation: Three couples in triangular formation (sets of 3's).
Three sets of 3 may form in groups of 9, forming a larger triangle.
Couples face toward center of their own group of 3: #1 couples
with backs to the center of the hall; #2 to right of #1; #3 to right of
#2. Each couple holds their joined hands down and to the outside,
remaining perfectly motionless until time to become active.

First Chorus
Measure
1-2  FIRST COUPLE BALANCE FORWARD; BALANCE BACK
     Just couple 1, beginning man's L (woman's R), step fwd
swinging joined hands fwd and high; touch R to L (women
touch L to R); step back on R, swinging the hands down
and back, touch L to R (woman opp). The other two
     couples stand.

9-16 THREE COUPLES STAR RIGHT TWICE AROUND
All dancers face L and form a R-hand star   women place L
hand on L hip with palm out, man place his L hand on the
woman's L and this woman becomes his present new
partner. All start with the left and move in this star position
with short running steps, making 2 complete revolutions.
Men finish in home starting position.
17-18 ALL BALANCE FORWARD; BALANCE BACK
Retaining star formation and handholds, all balance fwd on
     L, back on R.
19-20 LADIES TURN OUT AND GENTS BALANCE
Men, still holding woman's L in his L hand, and retaining

Keeping L hands joined and releasing R-hand star, men
start on L and take 6 steps to turn out («)   simultaneously,
the women start on L and take 6 steps in to form a R-hand
star. Thus, 3 men are now in the center space in a star; 3
women are in a star in each group; and 2 men on the rim of
     the star in each group.
25-26 ALL BALANCE FORWARD; BALANCE BACK
