Formation: Single circle, facing center. One child, "The Muffin Man," stands in the center.

SONG

Verse 1. Oh, do you know the muffin man, the muffin man, the muffin man,

Oh, do you know the muffin man who lives in Drury Lane?

Verse 2. Oh, yes, I know the muffin man, the muffin man, the muffin man,

Oh, yes, I know the muffin man who lives in Drury Lane.

Verse 3. Two of us know the muffin man, the muffin man, the muffin man,

Two of us know the muffin man who lives in Drury Lane.

ACTION

Verse 1. The muffin man skips up to one of the children in the circle and jumps up and down on both feet in time with the music.

Verse 2. The one whom the muffin man has chosen jumps up and down on both feet in time with the music.

Verse 3. The muffin man and his partner join hands and skip in LOD around the inside of the circle while the others clap hands. At the end of this verse the muffin man returns to the circle and his partner becomes the new muffin man.

Variation: Begin as above with one muffin man and at the end of Verse 3, each of the partners becomes a muffin man. Continue the game until everyone has a partner and have them skip in a big circle, singing, "All of us know the muffin man…."
